Meet Your Favorite Blogstar, Episode 1
Tuesday, 2005 April 26 - 11:45 pm
Hopefully, very soon, I'll be all full of Suburban-Blissy goodness.

As it turns out, my good friend Javi is getting inducted into our high school "hall of fame". I didn't even know such a thing existed. I find this idea to be cute and funny; it's a bit like giving Stephen Hawking a gold star for getting all his math homework done.

So anyway, that gives me a reason to travel to Michigan and see a bunch of my old friends. There's going to be a dinner and a little ceremony, but more importantly, there will be a CASH BAR. That will surely give me the proper perspective for documenting this momentous occasion.

Being in Michigan also means I'm very likely going to meet Melissa of Suburban Bliss*. Hopefully, she will also drag along her robot husband and her cat sister, because they are both such pretty things. Logan, I mean that in a sincere and complimentary but totally heterosexual way. Teri, ditto, and miao.

Melissa will hopefully be the first of many blogstars that I get to meet. Of course, Javi could be considered a blogstar himself, except that he would be a star even without his excellent blog, so I don't know if that really counts. And anyway, I knew him before he was King. By the way, all this talk of Javi raises the question, just how much ass-kissing do I have to do to get written into an episode of "Lost"? Or to get a date with Yunjin Kim?

As I mentioned before, I'm also going to meet Pinky soon, and probably also Mr. Pinky. I'll be sure to call him Mr. Pinky, because that will be funny. That might open the door for meeting Minty at some point as well, if I'm lucky. Meeting local blogstars is nice because it's inexpensive; the only difficulty is figuring out who they actually are in real life.

Someday I need to go to Chicago, because I owe MonoCerdo a couple of beers. She also owes me beers, but according to the Laws of Beer, you cannot simply cancel out one beer debt with another. You actually have to pay them to each other, in a steady uninterrupted motion. Any hesitation will be considered a "Beer Balk", and the penalty is... more beer. You cannot escape the Laws of Beer.

So who else wants to be visited?

*Don't go to suburbanbliss.net. Someone else bought the domain and Melissa no longer writes there.

I'm a late season watcher of Lost. On a business trip to Mexico they were advertising a 6 hour Lost marathon of the first 6 episodes. They really need to show the initial (pilot) episode for people like me, here in the USA. Recently I have been noticing the extra people in the back of the shots. I originally thought there were just the 10 or so regular characters on the island. But apparently there are a bunch of red shirts around. Maybe you can be one. Make the Korean guy jealous by making out with his wife?

the weird thing is i am strictly getting into the hall of fame for my mathematics work. anyway, glad you're going - will be nice to see you before the regularly scheduled vegas trip - where are you staying?

It always confuses Mr. P. when people call him "Mr.P." in real life. It always makes me laugh. Then again, when people call me Pinky in real life, that makes me turn around to see who they might be talking to.
