I Crack Me Up
Monday, 2007 March 19 - 9:31 pm
Have you ever had one of those moments...

Have you ever had one of those moments where you think of a joke, and you know that only you will find the joke funny, but you tell the joke anyway, and proceed to crack yourself up?

I know I'm not the only one. My friend Ann had this one:

Elena: How many bananas should we get?
Ann: Oh, just grab a bunch.

See, the key to this kind of joke is that it has to be very mildly funny; it has to be so mild that an ordinary person wouldn't even bother to say it, much less laugh at it.

So the other day, Amy and I were driving along, and we drove past the future site of some new subdivision.

Amy: Why do they have to clear-cut everything? They could leave some trees.
Ken: Man, the Lorax is gonna be pissed.

And then there are the mental images that you get when someone says something, and you wish you could project that mental image onto a screen. A few months ago Amy was, er, pooting... and her euphemism for it was that "she was making muffin clouds". It is thanks to Photoshop that I am able to project this mental image to you:
