Just gotta keep on keepin' on. I don't know if I'm going to continue writing to the professor. So far she's just not doing much for me. I think I had more in common with the 17-year-old than I do with this woman. The biggest problem? She's anti-Ringside. Gasp! There's not much else going on except that I've been finding more and more profiles to ridicule. Here's a headline from one of them: "Come hither my fairweathered friend... and see what you can find that intrigues you". Did she really mean "fairweathered", or did she mean "fine-feathered"? Either way, I don't quite understand what she's getting at. I'm beginning to grow tired of reading profiles because what I like is people who are self-deprecating, and you just don't see a lot of that in personal ads. Most people write about all the ways they are wonderful and perfect. What I need to know is how they are weird and neurotic. I guess that's why I like reading people's blogs so much. Really, what I need to find is the sort of person who owns pig pajamas and who will take pictures of herself with liquor bottles. Now where do you suppose I could find someone like that? Alas. I'm going to keep on trying the on-line dating thing for a while because I know it's got to get better. Surely. But as I've said before, I'm not in any particular hurry. I'm okay with being single. The married-with-children people I know are sometimes envious of my lifestyle. They listen to my stories of clubbing and hot-tubbing, and while they say they would never want to be in the dating scene again, I suspect that sometimes they are envious. President Bush, of all people, has given me a useful phrase for describing how married people envy single people: "They hate us for our freedom." |

Ooo. Beautiful! I LOVE being single. I'm not so sure I want to give it up either. But dating is quite alright with me. I'm going to create my own state of existence that is neither married and bored and asleep by 9 pm, nor lonely on a Friday night. So far it's working. |

Oh, fairweathered single one, thou hath stolen my heart fair and true with thine pigged robe. Come hither and imbibe with me, whilst clad in thine porcine pajamas! |
