College Football 2012: Week 3 Preview
Saturday, 2012 September 15 - 11:44 am
It's cupcake weekend for Michigan and N.C. State.

#17 Michigan vs. UMass
UMass is a terrible, terrible team. They lost to UConn 37-0 and lost to Indiana 45-6. If Michigan does not win by four touchdowns and score in the 40s at least, it'll be a disappointment.

N.C. State vs. South Alabama
It's not the regular Alabama. While South Alabama does at least have a win under its belt, it was against 1-AA Nichols State. This should be a snoozer.

Games to Watch on TV
At noon you may want to catch Cal at #12 Ohio State on ABC; this should be OSU's toughest test so far. Wake Forest might put up a fight against #5 Florida State on ESPN, but then again, probably not. On BTN, Western Michigan takes on Minnesota, and that seems like it has upset potential.

At 3:30, Michigan plays UMass on BTN, but that game will (hopefully) be out of hand early. #1 Alabama plays Arkansas in a big SEC game on CBS; Arkansas may struggle without starting quarterback Tyler Wilson. Even so, I'll call that my Game of the Week. UNC has a tough matchup in #19 Louisville on ABC/ESPN2. Navy is coming off being crushed by Notre Dame two weeks ago but may give ailing Penn State a battle, on the ABC/ESPN2 reverse mirror.

At 6:00, #18 Florida takes on a resurgent #23 Tennessee in another important early SEC game.

At 7:30, there's a big game out west as #2 USC plays #21 Stanford on Fox.

At 8:00, #20 Notre Dame plays #10 Michigan State on ABC; that game will tell us a lot about what both teams are made of this year.
