College Football 2016: Week 2 Preview
Saturday, 2016 September 10 - 11:37 am
Michigan plays Central Florida; N.C. State plays at East Carolina.

Michigan vs. Central Florida, ABC 12:00 PM
Michigan is a five touchdown favorite against UCF, and for good reason: UCF's defense is tiny, save for their 300-pound nose tackle. The linebackers are safety-sized, averaging around 210 pounds. When Michigan brings out their heavy package, there's a good chance UCF will just be steamrolled.

We'll get to see Don Brown's defense take on a true spread team; it should be a good preview of his eventual strategy against Ohio State.

Prediction: Michigan 56, UCF 6.

N.C. State at East Carolina, ESPNU 12:00 PM
This will be a real test for N.C. State, playing in front of a largely hostile crowd against a good ECU squad. I think ECU will score a bunch of points, and it'll be up to the NCSU offense to keep pace.

Prediction: NCSU 36, ECU 27.

Games to Watch on TV
Michigan and NCSU both play at noon, as noted above. Keep an eye on Penn State at Pitt on ESPN, as well; Pitt is favored. I'll mark that as the Game of the Week, even though I probably won't be watching it.

The afternoon schedule is full of yawners. Maybe peek at Wake Forest at Duke at 3:30 on ESPNU, or Kentucky at Florida on CBS.

At 7:00 PM, Arkansas plays at #15 TCU on ESPN.
At 7:30 PM, UNC plays at Illinois on BTN.
At 8:00 PM, Virginia Tech plays #17 Tennessee at Bristol Motor Speedway, which strikes me as a terrible venue for a football game. I like VT in the upset here.
