August 16 Frozen Meal: Tai Pei Shrimp Fried Rice
Monday, 2010 September 20 - 12:17 pm
"Shrimp, vegetables, and fried rice". They really don't spend much time on their frozen-lunch buzzwords. Other lunches would say something like "savory shrimp and tender vegetables on a bed of Asian-inspired fried rice".

Box

Meal

This is the last one of these Tai Pei meals I'll eat. Ever.

Taste: It's a lot like the chicken fried rice from before, though perhaps not quite as strongly soy-sauce-flavored. The shrimp is rubbery and bland; the vegetables are unremarkable. This is just another production-line meal: no thought to flavors or textures. Score: 2.0/5.0

Nutrition

Nutrition: Precisely two servings in this box, so that comes to:
calories: 460
calories from fat: 100
fat:12 g
saturated fat:1 g
cholesterol:40 mg
sodium:2100 mg
carbohydrates:72 g
fiber:4 g
sugar:2 g
protein:14 g
vitamin A:70%
vitamin C:8%
calcium:8%
iron:12%
2100 mg of sodium? Yikes. Score: 1.0/3.0

Packaging: Just throw the whole box in the microwave. Score: 2.0/2.0

Total Score: 5.0/10.0. Like I said: I'll never eat these Tai Pei meals again.
