College Football 2016: Week 7 Preview
Saturday, 2016 October 15 - 11:28 am
Michigan has a bye; NCSU faces Clemson.

NC State at #3 Clemson, ABC 12:00 PM
Well, this is obviously a huge test for NCSU. While Clemson hasn't looked flawless this year, they're talented on both sides of the ball; when they execute correctly, they're unstoppable. NCSU doesn't really have the athletes to match up, so a few bounces will need to go their way to win this game.

NCSU will need a balanced attack on offense. Some misdirection will probably be required; running directly at the Clemson front might prove to be futile. On defense, I think the key will be to attack Deshaun Watson with a variety of edge blitzes; this may help keep him contained in the pocket, and force him to rush his throws downfield.

Realistically, though, it's hard to see NCSU keeping up with the Tigers the whole game. While my heart says NCSU has a chance to keep it close, my head says otherwise.

Prediction: NCSU 16, Clemson 42.

Games to Watch on TV
Several top teams on bye this week, including Michigan and Washington.

The NCSU-Clemson game is at noon on ABC. You might get a few laughs watching the Incompetence Bowl, as Illinois takes on Rutgers on ESPNEWS. Minnesota plays Maryland in what I would call the Big Ten Second Tier race.

At 3:30 PM, #1 Alabama plays #9 Tennessee on CBS. USC plays Arizona on Fox. #10 Nebraska plays Indiana on ABC; this game might be interesting. Northwestern plays Michigan State on BTN.

At 7:00 PM, #12 Mississippi plays #22 Arkansas on ESPN. But at 7:30, switch over to NBC to see Stanford at Notre Dame in the Which Team Is Headed The Wrong Way bowl.

At 8:00 PM, #2 Ohio State plays #8 Wisconsin. This is the Game of the Week.
