Halloween 2006
Friday, 2006 November 3 - 9:30 am
Finally, my post about Halloween.

Amy and I went to a party downtown last Saturday. We actually were invited to two parties that night: the one we went to (at Aries Lounge, hosted by Anna and some of her friends) and the one that I usually go to every year (at Samantha's house). But I'd committed to Anna's party first, and we just couldn't figure out how to go to both.

We dressed as Wonder Woman and her invisible jet:

My invisible jet costume is made of wire and shower curtains. You may not be able to see in the picture, but the inside of the costume is starting to steam up because it lacks adequate ventilation... that's a design flaw I'll have to correct if I ever wear this thing again.

We won $50 as a result of this, which was almost enough to cover our bar tab.

Some other cool costumes we saw (pictures courtesy of Anna and Heloisa):

"Operation". This was another prize-winner. I thought it was pretty brilliant.

"Nutcracker". I give this girl props for wearing a large cumbersome headpiece, because most of my costumes seem to involve stuff like that too.

"Medusa and Statue". Clever. This looks like it took some effort.

Anna was the Orbit Gum Girl. Anna has a knack for picking costumes that suit her personality. Note that she poses like this in just about every picture ever taken of her, regardless of costume.

Anna's husband Erik was Mickey Knox from Natural Born Killers. For many years, he dressed up as Bruce Willis characters, because he bears some resemblance. This year he had to keep telling people he was not "Die Hard".

Amy and I have already starting compiling a costume ideas list for next year. I'm gonna have to buy some more shower curtains.

I cannot believe I do not see any abominable snowgirls, dominatrix cops and naughty nurses on this site! Operation is definitely hard to beat!
