For People Who Can't Read the F-ing Signs | Monday, 2007 June 4 - 10:15 pm |
A day at the North Carolina license plate office. I went to renew my license plate today. I got to the license plate office just past noon, so of course the line was out the door. I asked a guy who was waiting in line, "Which line are you in?" Because, you see, there's one fast line for license plate renewals for people who have their renewal card with them, and one slooooowwww line for everything else. There are signs that clearly indicate which line is which. The guy says to me, "There's just one line. It splits once you get inside." I said, carefully, "No... see, there are two lines. One for people who are renewing and have their renewal cards, and one for everyone else. Which category are YOU in?" The guy says, "There's just one line. It splits inside." So I punched him in the head and peed on him a little. Well, that's what I wanted to do. What I did instead was, I went inside, breezed over to the short line, and finished my renewal in three minutes. I passed Mr. Unhelpful on the way out (who hadn't moved an inch) and tried not to smirk too much. I estimated that he was in for an hour-long wait, given the length of the line in front of him. He should be happy he didn't get peed on. |

I always just renew mine online and avoid all the hassle. I hate going to the DMV. |
