Today's Pondering
Wednesday, 2005 October 19 - 12:12 am
The usual wacky news from around the world.

An animal welfare group in Australia is condemning a toy chicken that reacts when you choke it. The product description reads, "Grab him by the neck and he will squawk and cluck like mad, flapping his wings and feet wildly as if he is really being choked." The main thing I wanted to point out is that Australians have a mechanical toy for choking the chicken. Here in the good old U.S. of A., we do that by hand.

Sylvester Stallone is making a new Rocky movie, entitled "Rocky Balboa". Does that make anyone else think of the Weird Al parody song, "Rye or the Kaiser", sung to the tune of "Eye of the Tiger"? Fat and weak, what a disgrace; guess the champ got too lazy.

A study indicates that losing weight helps people improve their sex lives. I believe the report, presented at the annual meeting of the North American Association for the Study of Obesity in Vancouver, was entitled "NO DUH".) How exactly does one get a job studying things like this? Or perhaps more importantly, how does one sign up to be a test subject?
