The final two. Okay, this was a weird episode. First, the contestants sang two songs that they already performed before. Then, each of them sang a crappy pop song written by some paid songwriters. Apparently those songwriters aren't paid very much. It'll be a tough choice between the two. Taylor certainly deserves to win: he's got a ton of personality, he puts a lot of himself into every performance, and he's just so dang likable. But Katharine deserves props for improving every week, and she's arguably got a better singing voice. And she's probably more suited to being a pop star, with her girl-next-door good looks and her pop-singing style. I'd say Katharine needs this show more than Taylor. But at this point, both of them have their careers set. Taylor will get live gigs all over the place, and Katharine will get a cushy pop recording contract. So does it really matter who wins? I predict that Taylor will win, but it'll be close. |

What can I say? I'm right again. But congratulations to both of them; I really wouldn't have minded either of them winning. |
