Judgment Day
Wednesday, 2003 October 8 - 9:10 pm
So it's done; the Gropenator has indeed become governor of California (or as they say in Austria, kalla-FOOOR-nia). Is the world ending?

No, the world will not come to an end. Poor Ahnult doesn't know what he's gotten himself into; an office surrounded by angry Democratic legislators who resent the coup d'etat, an $8 billion deficit (wait, make that $12 billion if he repeals the vehicle tax increase) to weigh on his promise to fix the budget without raising taxes or cutting services, and a bevy of lawsuits from voters who think they may have been disenfranchised. If anything, this will only serve to energize the loyal opposition the next time around... which may be as soon as the next recall election.
