Microsoft Windows Can't Jump
Sunday, 2005 July 24 - 10:44 pm
It ain't easy being this sucky.

The next version of Microsoft Windows is going to be called "Windows Vista".

When the announcement came out, some of my co-workers talked about jumping on the domain name "windowsvista.com". But that's probably already taken. So I suggested they go for "windowsvistasucks.com" instead.

Because, you know what? It's going to suck. There ain't no "vista", there ain't no "view", and there certainly ain't no vista of no view.

Look, I know, Windows has come a long way since the horrors of its earlier versions. Windows XP is almost tolerable. But every time I use it, there are a thousand little things that get in the way of my productivity. Lots of times, things just stop working, for no good reason. And all the Windows XP lipstick doesn't save you from periodically having to deal with the Windows NT pig underneath.

I wonder, when it comes time for current Windows users to upgrade, whether they'll actually stick with Microsoft. Windows Vista might mean people have to buy a whole new computer and a new set of Vista-compatible applications. If you're having to start from scratch anyway, why not buy a Mac?

Just a thought.

Even Dvorak is unimpressed with Vista. Check it out here.
