Today's Frozen Meal: Lean Cuisine Roasted Turkey Breast
Thursday, 2010 January 14 - 12:44 pm
"Roasted turkey breast with gravy, stuffing, whipped potatoes & green beans accented with cranberries." It's like Thanksgiving... if you had no family or friends.

Box

Meal

I was leery of this meal. Those of you who know me know: you don't mess with me and my turkey. I'm not sure why they chose to brown each piece of the turkey breast; it's as if they fried it in a pan or something.

Taste: A mixed bag here. The turkey itself was okay, but it did have that odd fried appearance and texture. And the gravy was reasonably seasoned, but it looked like just boiled corn starch and water. The green beans with the cranberries... hmm. The cranberries tasted more like Japanese pickles, which gave the vegetable side dish a jarring namasu-like quality. Score: 2.5/5.0

Nutrition

Nutrition: Ergh, 890mg of sodium. The vitamin content was poor also (at least what they showed of it; the croutons are supposedly vitamin-enriched, but the panel doesn't show the Vitamin B-complex numbers). Score: 2.0/3.0

Nutrition

Packaging: Add a tablespoon of water? You gotta be kidding me. Score: 1.5/2.0

Total Score: 6.0/10.0
