Today's Frozen Meal: Healthy Choice Cajun Style Chicken and Shrimp
Monday, 2010 January 18 - 12:57 pm
From the "Café Steamers" collection: "Chicken Tenderloin & Shrimp with Rice and Vegetables in Spicy Cajun-Style Sauce".

Box

Meal+Meal

Meal

Another one with the steamer tray, which I still find to be a convenient design. The box says "Improved Flavor!" With an exclamation point! I'm so excited! Because the previous version tasted like watery ketchup!

Taste: The sauce still pretty much tastes like watery ketchup, with maybe a dash of paprika and red pepper. Needs cumin, perhaps, and more garlic? The chicken and shrimp are overcooked and have no flavor of their own. Surprisingly, the most flavorful ingredient in the whole thing is the celery. It seems like a pretty insubstantial meal too, though maybe I'm just hungry today. Score: 2.0/5.0

Nutrition

Nutrition: Pretty decent; only 260 calories and 4 grams of fat. Only middling vitamin numbers, though. Score: 2.0/3.0

Packaging: Café steamer packaging continues to rule. Score: 2.0/2.0

Total Score: 6.0/10.0
