Today's Frozen Meal: Smart Ones Savory Steak and Ranch Grilled Flatbread
Friday, 2010 March 19 - 1:59 pm
The full name is actually "Weight Watchers® Smart Ones® Artisan Creations Grilled Flatbread Savory Steak & Ranch." These things have too many dang names. "Seasoned Beef Steak, Fire-Roasted Green Bell Peppers, Onions, Reduced Fat Mozzarella Cheese, with a Creamy Ranch Sauce on a Flatbread."

Box

Meal

Very similar to a mini pizza in appearance and cooking style.

Taste: It's kinda what you'd expect: tiny chunks of low-grade beef, a mozzarella-ish sauce flavored with ranch dressing powder, and flavorless green peppers. You can taste the onions, but I suspect some of that flavor is onion powder. It's not completely awful, but it's pretty bland. And the portion size is tiny and unsatisfying at just 170 grams. Score: 2.0/5.0

Nutrition

Nutrition: It's borderline on the fat content, and that would be even higher if it was a more satisfyingly-sized portion. But still, it gets full marks with reasonable numbers throughout. Score: 3.0/3.0

Packaging: Much like the mini-pizzas, with the crisping platform and the fiddly shrink-wrap. Score: 1.5/2.0

Total Score: 6.5/10.0
