October 5 Frozen Meal: Lean Cuisine Meatloaf with Mashed Potatoes | Friday, 2010 October 15 - 1:10 pm |
"Savory meatloaf with gravy and creamy red-skin mashed potatoes."![]() ![]() Meat with brown gravy is always in danger of looking like dog food. This meal is no exception. This meal has a real institutional look to it. Taste: The meatloaf is dense. Without the sauce, it's nearly flavorless. The sauce tastes mostly like canned gravy; somewhat tomato-y and onion-y but definitely processed. The mashed potatoes are a bit glutinous and under-seasoned, but they seem to be legitimate red-skinned mashed potatoes (not reconstituted). That's all there is to this meal: a slab of cheap meat and some potatoes. There's little to recommend. Score: 1.5/5.0 ![]() Nutrition: Slightly lacking in fiber and vitamins; passable in other categories. Score: 2.0/3.0 Packaging: You have to slit the film and stir midway through cooking. Score: 1.5/2.0 Total Score: 5.0/10.0 |
