So much to write about today! Boy, I've got a lot to talk about, and it's 11:00 p.m.... looks like this might be a late night. Articles after this one will cover "Hell's Kitchen", and of course the big news about Apple. Today's two-mile time: 17:14. I didn't really feel good out there; the air was thick and wet, and I haven't run in a week. But at least I didn't get passed by Team Octogenarian. (Really, a group of old guys were out running this evening... but perhaps "running" is too kind a word. More like "heavy ambling".) Yay Pistons! Now, I've gotta say, Dwayne Wade is a darn impressive player. For him to perform as well as he did with his injury... damn. He's a legitimate star, and Miami will be a tough team for years to come, if they can just get a few more players around him. But the Pistons played better defense, played better team basketball, and now they'll be going to play the Spurs in what should be a very entertaining NBA final. I'm finally getting to reading The Kite Runner. It's quite good if you can settle down and get into it... the first chapter isn't exactly edge-of-your-seat excitement. It's a character story with slowly-building drama; you've really got to immerse yourself in the story. I got through about half of it yesterday before I forced myself to put it down and go to bed. (If I don't make consciously make myself stop, I'll keep reading and reading until the whole book is finished.) |
