Better Days
Tuesday, 2005 June 21 - 11:56 pm
Just about everything was better today than yesterday.

Whoo Pistons! You know, no one gave Detroit a chance against Miami, and no one gave them a chance against San Antonio. I hope there's some crow-eating going on in pundit-land.

Today's four-mile time: 37:09. After today's run, I rather doubt that I made four miles in under 36:00 last Friday, so it looks like I've still got some work to do. But I felt good today. I've made a discovery: at about 3.75 miles, I start to get "runner's high", that rush of endorphins that your body sends to mask the fact that you're torturing yourself. Ahhh.

I ate four more Crapanadas today. This time I put a slice of tomato and a bunch of garlic powder on each one before baking them, and that actually seemed to help a bit. They're becoming more and more calzone-like; I think that's a good thing.

I fixed the color-preferences mechanism. Some folks might not have noticed it was broken, but it was, probably for quite some time. Whoops. If you're still having difficulty with it, go into your browser preferences and delete all the cookies for realkato.com, and then try again. Someday (hopefully soon) I'm going to come up with a registration and login system, and that should allow for a lot of cool new features.

Overall, today was a better day. Even work wasn't so bad. It started off lousy, but in the afternoon I got to do some fun stuff with web and database design, and that's conveniently helping me figure out what I want to do with this site. I need to remember days like today, because they help get me through the bad times, you know?

Suggestion for crapanadas -- think of them as crusty flavored bread, and eat with your favorite soup or ragout.
