Catching Up, Part 1
Monday, 2006 January 30 - 9:33 pm
In this part, Amy and I become EXTREME. Also: things made out of babies.

This weekend, Amy and I went to buy mountain bikes, because we are EXTREME.

We went to a bike shop first, and spent about thirty seconds looking at the $2900 price tags before we went to Dick's Sporting Goods for some $200 bikes instead. We are EXTREME-ly cheap when it comes to biking.

We bought a bike rack for my car, too, and when we got out to the parking lot, we set out to mount it on my car. After a few minutes, the bike rack was mounted sideways and somehow Amy and I were strapped to the hood of the car, because of our EXTREME ineptitude at bike-rack mounting. Fortunately, a nice gentleman who said he "worked for 19 years at REI" came out to help us put it on right. So we were able to transport the bikes home instead of spending the rest of the day in Dick's Parking Lot, strapped to the hood of the car.

Once we got home, we decided we should go for a ride, because we are EXTREME. Granted, we only biked about a mile before we had to stop for vodka tonics, but that's because not only are we EXTREME bikers, we are also EXTREME drinkers.

But I guess you already knew that.

After our strenuous exercise, we tried on some socks that we also found at Dick's Sporting Goods. They're called "Life Is Good Snuggle Socks", and they are so freakin' soft, Amy thinks they're made of babies. I am inclined to agree.

If there were any way sock-wearing could be considered EXTREME, this would be it. You'll have to try these for yourself; words cannot express the sheer extremity of the softness.

Perhaps they are made out of bunnies? Or kitties? Or puppies? All the above being softer then babies in my opinion. Not that babies aren't soft...:)
