Productivity | Tuesday, 2006 March 21 - 2:54 am |
Tonight I tore myself away from the shmoopie in order to get some stuff done. I tried to be productive tonight. One of the things I had to do was to buy a pickaxe from the Home Depot. See, I'm doing some "landscaping" this spring. When I was out working on my yard this past weekend, I would have called it "pushing some dirt around". But "landscaping" is a more productive-sounding term. Anyway, I was using a little bitty handheld pickaxe to do my dirt farming, and that just wasn't cutting it. So today I got a big ol' mean looking thing. You might remember how I thought a big-ass plumber's wrench looked intimidating... well, check THIS out: ARRRR. Actually, I'm not sure which is scarier: the pickaxe, or how badly I need a haircut. Or maybe it's my "I think I just farted" face. I also did a bunch of laundry tonight. That did not involve the pickaxe, but it did involve the new front-loading washer and dryer that I got a while back. I've been meaning to write about how much I'm totally in love with the front-loading washer, and how I yearn sometimes to just get inside it and go for a spin. I mean, it's almost a pleasure doing laundry now. How weird is THAT? Maybe it's partly the fact that the washing machine has all these beepy buttons and lights on it, and it's more like a tech gadget than a domestic appliance. Every time I do laundry, I get to go all Lieutenant Sulu on that thing. The dishwasher and the range are just screaming with jealous inadequacy now. They might have to go soon. |

I always thought I was the only one who wanted to get in one of those and take a ride. Glad to know I'm not the only crazy one... |

This was hysterical, I almost spewed coffee from my laughing gob when I read the term "dirt farming". |

I can't stop laughing about your "I think I just farted" face. The picture wasn't nearly as funny until I read that line. |

Since you admited it first I'll admit I have a thing for my front-loading washer too. On mine I get to pick the tone of the beepy buttons. How cool and geeky is that! |

Hey, can you blog on that washer? Cause, if so, I'm buyin' me some. |
