Dating Update: Two Years | Thursday, 2007 August 16 - 9:42 pm |
I mean, Girlfriend Update. I mean, Wife Update. As of tomorrow, it's been two years since I first met Amy. Two years. In some ways, it's as if no time has passed at all. We act pretty much the same as we did on that first date... we are still as goofy, as crazy in love, and, um, as drunk as ever. In other ways, it's like we've been together forever. Sometimes I can't even believe that I got here. I was single for such a long time that I thought it was a permanent condition. I had resigned myself to being single, my life punctuated with a series of short-term relationships in which I would settle for mere companionship, even if it came without real happiness. I pictured myself turning 40, then 50, then 60, as a bachelor; I imagined filling my life with various hobbies and enterprises. Now, when I come home every day, I feel a wave of relief and gratitude that she is still with me, that I can finally stop worrying about what will become of me. I no longer feel like I'm searching for something. I just feel like I'm home. Thank you for my wonderful life, Amy. I love you. |

It's a product called "Photoshop". |

You photoshop your teeth white? I'm so disappointed. |

Well, in this case, it's just that the brightness and contrast are high in the photo. I didn't specifically take an eraser to the picture. But the point is, my teeth really aren't all that white. And Amy loves me anyway! |

I was just hoping it was some miracle product that I, too, could get at the CVS and not pay 500$ for the dentist to do it with gel and a blue laser. |

This was beautiful. Congratulations on an exciting milestone. You guys are what being married should be all about (that is to say, a shared love of booze and finger mustaches). |
