Black Friday
Friday, 2007 November 23 - 7:03 pm
The difference between men and women.

So Amy's brother Cory came for Thanksgiving, along with his girlfriend Candice.

Today, Amy and Candice went shopping at 7:00 a.m. and bought a whole bunch of clothes and purses and such.

Me? I went online and bought two 19" flat-panel monitors from Tiger Direct for $119 each. (I'm going to make them into TVs.) Then I played City of Heroes for most of the day.

Cory slept until 2:00 p.m.

I will leave it to you to decide who had the best day.

A game I wanted (Super Mario Galaxy) was on sale this morning at the Circuit City for $35 (normally $50), but only from 5 til 11. So I decide to head over there around 10 (I didn't want it THAT much), and they did have some left...cool. I wait in line for about 20 minutes, get the game and all is good.

But I did wonder... If someone had offered to give me $15 (the difference in price for those not paying attention) to leave my house, battle traffic and parking, and then wait in line for 20 minutes I probably would have told them no.

I think about things a little differently now that I am older.

We had a mall near where I live open up at 12 Midnight (after Thanksgiving). I thought about it a little while and determined that I would not wish to work 12 Midnight after Thanksgiving so why should I support a group that chooses to open at this crazy hour?

I choose not to shop on Black Friday. My family saw "Enchanted" (Good film).

1. Has anyone seen the ad for "What Would Jesus Buy" movie? It looks fun (and funny).

2. Timothy: Toys R Us had an ad in the Sunday Paper the week before concerning Wii games. The sales was buy 2 games and get one free. It also offered at $10 gift card if you spent more than $75. So... 3 games for $90.

I spent my day writing the script for "Saw VII," should they ever need a sequel on short notice.

I don't want to give anything away, but most of the script is just drawings of the most gruesome imagery imaginable... and I end it with a twist of the bad guy winning in an odd way, and everyone learning the valuable lesson of appreciating life or some super intelligent psycho will play a game with it and kill you... should be a pretty good flick.

Psshhhh, shopping...
