First, The Bad News

There was an article recently about binge drinking. Mmm, binge drinking.

According to the National Surveys on Drug Use and Health, one in five people have gone on a recent drinking binge.

By "binge" they mean having five or more drinks in one sitting, and by "recent" they mean within the past thirty days. So does that means that I count as EIGHT PEOPLE in this survey?

The states that ranked among the highest in both drug use and binge drinking were Colorado, South Dakota, and Vermont. Utah ranked the lowest in just about every category. COME ON, HEATHER, YOU'RE NOT PULLING YOUR WEIGHT.

I guess North Carolina is somewhere in the middle, but not for my lack of trying. Tonight I was sad because of this:

It's really empty. I checked again:

I always used to tease my mom because she would tend to mispronounce the word "hooray" as "fray", because there is no Japanese phoneme for the "hoo" sound. But right now, I am saying FRAY FRAY FRAY, because of this:

Thank Jesus and Joseph Smith for backup booze.

I am feeling your pain. I don't even know what HAPPENED to my Macallan's.

People came over. Now it's gone.

In its place I find bottles and bottles of beujelais. (I can't drink it or spell it.)

I hear you!
Now get me that grey goose extra dry, ever so slightly dirty... and shake the shit out of it... and I will join you.

Hot little number, you'll have to hurry; the Grey Goose is going fast. Bring your hot friend with you.

Hamster: Beaujolais? That's like grape juice. It should go down easy.

Next time I'm in town I'll replenish your Macallan's... since I'm probably the one who drank it all.

So, was there a moral in the study about binge drinking? Because I'm a binge drinker; I won't drink for months and months and then I'll have enough in one night to make up for the previous dry spell.

I didn't see a moral to the story, but they seemed to talk about binge drinking as if it were a BAD THING. Huh.

There's an article here.
