Today's Frozen Meal: Amy's Pesto Pizza | Monday, 2010 February 1 - 1:34 pm |
Or is it Pizza Pesto? "Made with organic vegetables and basil." This is the non-microwaveable pizza from a few days ago. I debated whether that should be an automatic disqualifier or not; I decided it's conceivable that other offices would at least have a toaster oven available, so this deserves to be considered. Taste: Mmm. Really quite good. The pesto comes through prominently and the cheese is nice and gooey. The crust benefits from being cooked in a real oven instead of on a microwave crisping sheet. There are just enough tomatoes to add a little juiciness. The broccoli is the only thing that doesn't really add much. Score: 4.5/5.0 Nutrition: Well, oh well. 19 freakin' grams of fat and 5 grams of saturated fat. Very little fiber. A little less sodium and a little more vitamin content would be appreciated too. Score: 0.5/3.0 Packaging: Well, I have to penalize this to some degree for being non-microwaveable. But it's otherwise fairly easy to prepare. Score: 1.5/2.0 Total Score: 6.5/10.0 |
