Today's Frozen Meal: Healthy Choice Spicy Shrimp Diavolo
Tuesday, 2010 February 16 - 12:12 pm
Shrimp devil? "Shrimp with Whole Grain Pasta in a Spicy Tomato Sauce, Vegetables & Cherry Blueberry Multigrain Crisp."

Sorry there was no post yesterday, by the way. After a Valentine's day weekend of gourmet food, I just wasn't hungry for a frozen meal yesterday.

Box

Meal

This one didn't seem all that appealing to me, but I tried it anyway, in the name of science. Note how the word "Spicy" is in smaller letters on the box... that seems like a sure sign that it's not really going to be spicy.

Taste: It's really just shrimp in a tomato sauce, with just a bare hint of red pepper in it. The sauce is severely lacking in flavor. The vegetables are plain and steamed, as usual. The dessert is even worse than usual: it's supposed to be a cherry-blueberry "crisp", but mostly it's just cherries and blueberries in a goopy sauce with a few flakes of cereal in it. There's no "crisp" to it at all. Score: 1.5/5.0

Nutrition

Nutrition: It's pretty spectacular, with only 2.5 grams of fat and 7 grams of fiber. Score: 3.0/3.0

Packaging: Peel and stir mid-way through, and stir AGAIN after it's done. Score: 1.0/2.0

Total Score: 5.5/10.0
