Today's Frozen Meal: Lean Cuisine Philly-Style Steak and Cheese
Friday, 2010 June 11 - 2:02 pm
"Beef steak, red & green peppers, onions & cheddar cheese sauce on sourdough bread". I'm sure Philadelphia residents would have a good laugh about the "Philly-Style" claim.

Box

Meal

No, it is not served on a Philadelphia roll; it's more like Texas toast.

Taste: It's reasonably tasty, though the bread is soggy from the cooking: the crisping tray failed to grill the bread evenly. It's nice and cheesy and the onions aren't overpowering. But there is no way in a hundred years that any self-respecting Philadelphian would call this a Philadelphia cheese steak sandwich. That would be like slapping tomato sauce and cheese on a piece of toast and calling in Chicago-style pizza. Score: 2.5/5.0

Nutrition

Nutrition: Somewhat high in fat, particularly for such a small meal. Score: 2.0/3.0

Packaging: Not bad. The crisping tray didn't do a great job, but the whole thing was easy to make (less than three minutes in the microwave). Score: 2.0/2.0

Total Score: 6.5/10.0
