Last Fortnight's Frozen Meal: Kashi Southwest Style Chicken
Tuesday, 2010 July 6 - 12:04 pm
Not actually southwest; just "southwest style". "Grilled Chicken Breast Seasoned with Lime, Cumin & a Hint of Chipotle; Fire Roasted Onions & Corn, Red & Green Peppers; Kashi 7 Whole Grains & Sesame Pilaf."

Box

Meal

So whoo, it's been a while since I've posted a review... I've been out of town. I've got some catching up to do. This meal is from June 23rd.

Taste: There's a fair helping of southwest (er, "southwest-style") spices, but seems like it needs salt. Like a lot of these Kashi meals, it's tasty but not mouth-watering. There's something about it that makes it seem drier than it is. The texture of the pilaf is pleasant, if somewhat monotonous. Score: 3.0/5.0

Nutrition

Nutrition: Zero saturated fat, plenty of fiber, and lots of vitamin C, but borderline on sodium and not much (listed) in the way of other vitamins. Score: 2.5/3.0

Packaging: Peel the film and stir in the middle of cooking. But a bonus for recycled earth-friendly packaging. Score: 2.0/2.0

Total Score: 7.5/10.0
