Today's Frozen Meal: Healthy Choice Honey Ginger Chicken
Monday, 2010 July 19 - 2:11 pm
"Chicken Tenderloins with an Asian Style Vegetable Blend in Honey Ginger Sauce over Whole Grain Rice".

Box

Meal

Any time the description says something-"style", that's a bad sign. The "Asian style vegetable blend" comes, I suppose, from the fact that there are half a dozen soybeans (I mean, "edamame") thrown into the dish.

Taste: It's cloyingly sweet. It's got a heavy dose of anise or fennel, and a fair bit of ginger. I can't say that it lacks flavor, but the sweetness is almost overpowering. The chicken is okay (the usual steamed tenderloin chunks); the vegetables are somewhat mushy and almost unnoticeable in the dish. It's not a very satisfying portion size. Score: 2.0/5.0

Nutrition

Nutrition: Very low in fat and sodium; lots of Vitamin A. Score: 3.0/3.0

Packaging: Requires stirring midway through cooking. Score: 1.5/2.0

Total Score: 6.5/10.0
