December 13 Frozen Meal: Healthy Choice Roasted Red Pepper Marinara | Wednesday, 2010 December 15 - 2:35 pm |
"9 grain cavatelli pasta in a roasted red pepper sauce, topped with parmesan, romano and asiago cheeses."![]() ![]() It's strange how microwave cheese disappears into the ether. Taste: It's a bit too sweet. This is probably due to a combination of factors: sweet red peppers, sweet tomatoes, and for crying out loud, added sugar. It needs more garlic, and maybe some basil. The cheese all but has vanished, leaving nothing more than pasta and the goopy sauce. It's pretty insubstantial and unsatisfying: it's only 241 grams, and a lot of that is probably water weight. Generally it should be hard to mess up pasta and marinara sauce, but this dish doesn't have much going for it. There are plenty of better options out there. Score: 1.5/5.0 ![]() Nutrition: Decent, though somewhat lacking in vitamins. Score: 2.5/3.0 Packaging: Requires peeling the film and stirring midway through cooking. Score: 1.5/2.0 Total Score: 5.5/10.0 |
