Girlfriend Update: Five Months | Wednesday, 2006 January 25 - 11:51 pm |
Well, five months plus one week. I don't know that I really have that much to say since the four-month update, except to say that my relationship with Amy is going exceptionally well, and I'm happier than I've ever been. Any other questions? Really, I never thought a relationship like this was even possible. We don't fight. We never get sick of each other. We always want to be together. It's been like this for five straight months now, and it hasn't let up in the slightest. There are many times when we look at each other and say, "Boy, I feel sorry for the people who don't have what we have." It scares me to think that I almost settled for a relationship that was merely tolerable. Instead, what we have is a deep understanding of each other... because we both want the same things, and for the most part, we both think the same way. Being with Amy is so easy and so natural, it's effortless. Am I making everyone sick yet? One thing I'd really like to do is to try to show everyone exactly what I see in Amy: all the humor, all the warmth, all the wit. I need to get her out and show her off. (We've been guilty of being homebodies a bit, um, particularly now that we have our own bar.) I'd always said that when I finally got attached, I'd take the opportunity to double-date with all my couple friends, instead of always being the fifth (third? seventh?) wheel. So, I'm gonna try to start doing more of that. Anyway, all is well, everyone. We're getting close to that six month point, and for me, that'll be close to a new record. Stay tuned. p.s. We've settled on a name for our bar: "AKBAR". Or maybe "THE AKBAR." And I think I know who I want to have as the mascot. |

The Akbar! Fabulous! I'm sure Jason would be more than happy to lend you his fez. |
