| Oh, we'll be talking about this one for a while. The best man-bites-dog news headline of the year so far: Dick Shoots Man. Ken Kato's Top Five Reasons Why Dick Cheney Shot a Dude in the Face: 5. "Hey, after all, he's a damn trial attorney." 4. "In a time of war, there will always be casualties." 3. "What, aren't vice presidents supposed to have duels?" 2. "I thought I could make some oil out of his body." 1. "I thought he was a human-quail hybrid." (See also Letterman's top ten list.) Did you see the Daily Show segment about this whole thing? It was brilliant. And here's one of my favorite quotes from Wonkette, concerning the White House press briefing: "[The press] kept referring to Cheney as 'the shooter' as [though] he were the BTK killer or something." I think it's safe to say that comedians are taking delight in the fact that Dick Cheney SHOT A DUDE. In the FACE. With a BIG-ASS SHOTGUN. Good times. |
