Today's Frozen Meal: Marie Callender's Penne Chicken Piccata | Monday, 2010 November 29 - 2:14 pm |
"Penne and White Wine Lemon Butter Sauce with White Meat Chicken, Spinach, Parmesan Cheese and Capers."![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() As I've done several times before, I forgot to photograph the combined result of the two sections before eating the meal. The sauce doesn't change the appearance all that much, except that it looks somewhat more appetizing with a moist appearance. Taste: The pasta is nicely cooked. The sauce is lemony and a bit overly salty, but not bad. There's a fair amount of spinach, though it's been shredded into tiny bits. The chicken is steamed and in chunks, as is typical for frozen meals. The capers are mild and don't add much; perhaps black olives would work better? Every now and then I get a weird chemical aroma. Still pretty decent overall. Score: 3.0/5.0 ![]() Nutrition: High in fat and sodium. They especially could have cut the sodium down, as the dish is too salty. Score: 1.5/3.0 Packaging: Convenient steamer packaging. Score: 2.0/2.0 Total Score: 6.5/10.0 |
